The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research was established by Alex Knaster in memory of his father, Mark, who succumbed to cancer in 2014.
Our goal is to reward cutting-edge, innovative ideas that transform patient care and answer the most complex questions about cancer biology.
The Mark Foundation provides grant support to individual investigators as well as multidisciplinary collaborative teams conducting research across cancer types. Our grantees represent the best scientific minds in cancer research and technological innovation and become a vital part of our scientific network. All grant submissions undergo rigorous peer review by the Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee and are held to the strictest standards of scientific excellence.
Our inaugural RFP is now open! The Emerging Leader Awards, our signature three-year academic grants totaling $750,000, will support early career investigators conducting high-impact, high-risk cancer research. Eligible candidates must be 3 – 8 years from the start of their independent research appointment. Full grant guidelines are available here. Letters of Intent are due Monday, June 4. Visit our Grants page for more details.
