Professor Sarah-Jane Dawson is a clinician-scientist focused on translational cancer research across the breadth of oncology. She is Deputy Director of the Collaborative Centre for Genomic Cancer Medicine and Head of the Molecular Biomarkers and Translational Genomics Laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the University of Melbourne, Australia. Professor Dawson is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and joined the scientific advisory committee of The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research in 2024. Her research program centres on the development of non-invasive blood-based biomarkers (‘liquid biopsies’) for clinical application, including early detection, risk stratification, and disease monitoring in cancer management to improve patient outcomes.
