Amaia Lujambio joined The Mark Foundation in September 2025. She came to The Mark Foundation from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she worked as a tenured Associate Professor specializing in liver cancer research through the development of precision mouse models. Previously, Amaia conducted postdoctoral research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where she focused on tumor suppressor and tumor maintenance mechanisms in cancer. Amaia holds a BS in Biology from the University of Navarra (Spain) and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Autonoma University of Madrid (UAM) and the Spanish National Cancer Institute (CNIO).
