Dr. Bollard is the Senior Vice President and Chief Research Officer and Dr. Robert J. and Florence T. Bosworth Distinguished Professor for Cancer and Transplantation Biology Research and the Director of the Center for Cancer and Immunology Research at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She is also a Professor of Pediatrics and of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at The George Washington University and Associate Center Director for Translational Research and Innovation at the GW Cancer Center. As a past President of the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT) and the current President of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), Dr. Bollard is a distinguished hematologist, immunologist, and immunotherapist. Her research focus is the development of cell and gene therapies for patients with cancer and underlying immune deficiencies. Dr. Bollard has also advanced a research program to improve outcomes for patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation by preventing relapse and decreasing the rate of infectious complications.
