Catherine Bollard, MBChB, MD

Dr. Bollard is the Bosworth Chair for Cancer Biology, Director of the Center for Cancer and Immunology Research, and Director of the Program for Cell Enhancement and Technologies for Immunotherapy (CETI) at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She is also a Professor of Pediatrics and of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at The George Washington University and Associate Center Director for Translational Research and Innovation at the GW Cancer Center. The immediate Past President of the International Society for Cellular Therapy (ISCT), Dr. Bollard is a distinguished hematologist, immunologist, and immunotherapist. Her research focus is the development of cell and gene therapies for patients with cancer and underlying immune deficiencies. Dr. Bollard has also advanced a research program to improve outcomes for patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation by preventing relapse and decreasing the rate of infectious complications.
