Dr. Johanna Joyce is a Professor of Oncology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and Full Member of the international Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. She previously served as the inaugural Executive Director of the multi-institutional Agora Cancer Centre for translational research in Lausanne until 2021. Dr. Joyce’s research expertise is in cancer biology, immunology, and the tumour microenvironment. Her contributions to cancer research have been recognized through multiple awards and honors including the EACR-Pezcoller Award for Women in Cancer Research Award, Metastasis Research Society – Fidler Innovation Award, Robert Bing Prize, Cloetta Prize, American Cancer Society Scholar Award, Rita Allen Foundation Award, V Foundation Award, Sidney Kimmel Foundation Award, among many others. Dr. Joyce has been elected by her peers as a Fellow of the American Association for Cancer Research, Fellow of the European Academy of Cancer Sciences, Member of EMBO, Chair of the AACR Tumor Microenvironment Working Group and Member of the AACR Women in Cancer Research Council. She is a committed mentor and advisor, and a widely-recognized advocate – including for women in cancer research.
