Dr. Wang’s project focuses on the functional regulatory elements that progressively alert cellular phenotype in the process of T cell exhaustion. To interrogate these functional non-coding elements, he will develop novel functional genomic tools, especially CRISPR based and single-cell omics approaches to identify the state-specific functional elements that control the abnormal expression of exhaustion marker genes, reveal the mechanism of how non-coding elements participate in the maintenance of T cell exhaustion.
